Overview

The Yale Psychopharmacology Symposium provides a comprehensive review of recent advances in depression treatment. The program explores newly approved therapeutics—including esketamine, zuranolone, brexanolone, dextromethorphan/bupropion, and xanomeline/trospium—as well as the emergence of digital therapeutics and promising investigational treatments such as psilocybin, kappa opioid receptor antagonists, and KV7 ion channel modulators. Designed and led by experts from the Yale Depression Research Program, this one-day course equips providers and trainees with the latest developments, practice standards, and future innovations shaping the treatment of depression and related disorders.

 

Note: This educational program is designed to present scientific information and opinion for healthcare professionals, to stimulate thought, and further investigation.


Objectives
  1. Evaluate the efficacy, safety, and evidence-based algorithms for current pharmacological treatments and medical devices.
  2. Assess the role of psychopharmacological, brain stimulation, and psychosocial treatments in managing challenging clinical situations.
  3. Describe advancements in psychopharmacology and their potential impact on the treatment of serious mood disorders.
  4. Identify opportunities for innovation in clinical trials and future therapeutic developments in psychopharmacology.
