Overview

We have been monitoring the COVID-19 outbreak and rapidly changing situation. As our top priority is to educate and promote health, we have made the decision to postpone the 8th Annual Yale Retina Symposium. The new date is to be determined, SPRING 2021.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and are looking forward to continuing this educational program at a time that is safe for all to attend.

The purpose of this conference is to demonstrate innovations in the evaluation and treatment of retinal and macular diseases such as age-related macular degeneration and diabetic macular edema, share cutting-edge research, innovations in imaging and pharmacotherapy, and provide an update on the surgical therapy of vitreoretinal disease. In recent years there has been significant progress in the management of common retinal disorders such as macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and retinal vascular occlusions.The primary goal is to promote excellence in the study and practice of ophthalmology by encouraging the development and discussion of new retinal advances in techniques and treatments.



Objectives
  1. Implement advances in imaging, pharmacotherapy, and surgical management of retinal disorders
  2. Assess tips and pitfalls in vitreo-retinal surgery
  3. Demonstrate current treatments of AMD
  4. Practice the management of diabetic retinopathy
  5. Use modern imaging of retinas

Registration

Registration fee* includes continental breakfast, refreshment breaks, and lunch:

  • Nurses/PAs/Allied Health Professionals - $75
  • Residents/Fellows/Students† - complimentary, registration required
  • Employees of Yale Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science - complimentary, registration required
  • Exhibitors - $3,000

*All cancellations must be received in writing (or via e-mail) at least one week prior to the start of the conference to receive a refund. Any requests for refunds received after this date, or by telephone, will not be honored.

†A letter of verification from department head must accompany registration. Letter should be sent separately to Yale CME at the mailing address below. You may also e-mail a pdf copy of your verification letter to cme@yale.edu.

This conference will be held at the Anlyan Center for Medical Research and Education, 1st Floor Auditorium, 300 Cedar Street, New Haven, CT.

From I-95 North or South: Leave I-95 at Exit 47 (Downtown New Haven/Rte 34). This puts you onto an exit expressway. Merge onto CT-34 W via Exit 1 toward Downtown New Haven. Follow the short expressway, and merge into the left lane after the traffic light; the entrance to the parking garage will be on your left. Visitor parking available in Air Rights Garage (see parking information below) or use the Howard Avenue Garage (see below).

From I-91 South: Leave I-91 South at Exit 1 (Downtown New Haven/Rte 34). This exit puts you onto a short expressway. Follow the short expressway, and merge into the left lane after the traffic light; the entrance to the garage will be on your left. Visitor parking available in the Air Rights Garage (see parking information below) or use the Howard Avenue Garage (see below).


Parking Information

The Air Rights Garage is open 24 hours a day and located between North and South Frontage roads, straddling York St. Rates: 0-3 hours - $3 per hour, 4-10 hours - $12 flat rate, 10-24 hours - $18 flat rate. Walking from the garage, head southwest on York Street toward Cedar Street, for approximately 80 feet. Turn left onto Cedar Street. Continue down Cedar Street until you arrive at the intersection of Congress Avenue and Cedar Street. The Anlyan Center will be across the street.

Howard Avenue Garage, 800 Howard Ave, New Haven, CT 06519, opposite from Yale-New Haven Hospital and next to the Yale Physicians Building. The garage is located in between the streets of Davenport and Congress. It is open from 6 am to 9 pm during week days only. Rates: $3 per hour. Walking from the garage, head south toward Congress Avenue for approximately 300 feet. Turn left onto Congress Avenue and continue walking until you arrive at the intersection of Congress Avenue and Cedar Street. The Anlyan Center is located at this intersection.
