Heart of the Matter: Women's Heart Symposium

The Yale Women’s Heart Symposium is a one-day educational program focused on contemporary approaches to the recognition, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of cardiovascular disease in women. Experts across cardiovascular medicine, cardiac surgery, critical care, structural heart disease, electrophysiology, heart failure, cardio-oncology, and vascular medicine will address advances in screening, diagnostics, prevention, therapeutics, and procedural care. Through focused presentations, case-based discussions, and multidisciplinary expert panels, the program will translate current evidence into practical strategies for the cardiovascular care of women.

1. Identify sex-specific and female-predominant cardiovascular risk factors and incorporate them into screening, prevention, and longitudinal risk assessment.
2. Apply contemporary evidence and guideline recommendations to the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease in women.
3. Differentiate anatomic, physiologic, and clinical considerations that may influence cardiovascular procedural and therapeutic decision-making in women.
4. Select appropriate medical, interventional, surgical, structural, electrophysiologic, and advanced heart failure therapies for women with complex cardiovascular disease.
5. Integrate multidisciplinary and case-based approaches to improve cardiovascular care and outcomes in women.

Parking Information 
Air Rights Garage is open 24 hours a day and located between North and South Frontage roads, straddling York St.

Walking from the garage, head southwest on York Street toward Cedar Street, for approximately 80 feet. Turn left onto Cedar Street. Continue down Cedar Street until you arrive at the intersection of Congress Avenue and Cedar Street. The Anlyan Center will be across the street.
