Overview
Cardiovascular disease continues to be the leading cause of death in our society as well as a significant source of morbidity. Health care costs associated with cardiovascular disease are among the highest. More than ever a good partnership with our associates in primary care is critical to provide state of the art, streamlined and comprehensive cardiac care. Providing updates on "bread and butter" cardiology is essential and the interaction during the event should shore up communication and working relationships with providers on the front line.

The course directors of this one day symposium designed the program to include a series of 20 minute lectures on key cardiology topics applicable to the practice of general internal medicine.

Objectives
  1. Utilize advances in cardiology to identify suitable strategies and achieve successful outcomes in CAD, ACS, AF, VHD, CHF, and Vascular Disease
  2. Apply the latest tools in improving the management of cardiology patients
  3. Be aware of prevention strategies
  4. Discuss advances in clinical research
