Overview

This half-day CME program equips primary care providers with practical, evidence-based strategies to recognize, diagnose, and manage common neurological conditions. Expert Yale faculty will deliver a dynamic curriculum featuring didactic lectures, case-based presentations, and interactive discussions. Topics include peripheral neuropathy, EMG/NCS in primary care, cognitive impairment, Parkinson’s disease, tremor, and advances in migraine care, with a keynote lecture on new developments in the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease.

With a focus on closing knowledge and practice gaps, the symposium will provide clinicians with updated diagnostic methods, therapeutic options, and best practices for timely referrals—ultimately enhancing patient outcomes across the region.

Objectives
  1. Apply diagnostic approaches and treatment strategies for peripheral neuropathies (autoimmune and hereditary), including the role of electro diagnostic testing.
  2. Evaluate recent advances in the diagnosis and treatment of neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease
  3. Differentiate and manage common neurological presentations, including mild cognitive impairment, tremor, and gait imbalance.
  4. Discuss emerging therapies for migraine management
  5. Determine appropriate pathways for urgent and non-urgent referrals to general neurology and subspecialties, and recognize common neurologic symptoms and diagnoses encountered in daily practice.
