This podcast episode explores critical thinking, relevant everyday illusions and cognitive bias including the role of emotions in decision-making. Although critical thinking is part of the curriculum at some medical schools, such courses are not universal, and many physicians in practice would benefit from exploring these topics.

1. Define dual process theory
2. Recognize the difference between Type 1 and Type 2 (System 1 and System 2) processing
3. Gain insights into Type 1 processing as related to emotions and cognitive bias

There is no cost or fee associated with this course series.
