Overview

Yale Liver Update 2023 is an annual CME course designed to provide a comprehensive review of the latest advances in the science and practice of hepatology, including updated research and guidelines from key GI/hepatology specialty societies (AASLD, AGA, ACG), as well as summarize new evidence emerging from annual international liver meetings such as The Liver Meeting (AASLD) and International Liver Congress (EASL). Key educational content will be summarized at this hybrid event to enhance clinical implementation in the context of clinicians within internal medicine, surgery, gastroenterology, and hepatology.

Interested participants have the option to attend virtually or in-person! Indicate your preference during registration.


Objectives
  1. Describe optimal approaches to the treatment of hepatitis B and C infection, including advances in antiviral therapy
  2. Discuss recent developments in the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic diseases of the liver such as NASH, PBC, DILI, alcoholic liver disease, and hepatorenal syndrome
  3. Define optimal management approaches to improve outcomes in cirrhosis, portal hypertension, and liver transplantation
  4. Review evidence and updated guidelines addressing the use of emerging diagnostic methods and therapies for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC)

Parking Information

Visitor parking available in the Air Rights Garage (see parking information below) or use the Howard Avenue Garage (see below).

The Air Rights Garage is open 24 hours a day and located between North and South Frontage roads, straddling York St.
Walking from the garage, head southwest on York Street toward Cedar Street, for approximately 80 feet. Turn left onto Cedar Street. Continue down Cedar Street until you arrive at the intersection of Congress Avenue and Cedar Street. The Anlyan Center will be across the street.

Howard Avenue Garage, 800 Howard Ave, New Haven, CT 06519, opposite from Yale-New Haven Hospital and next to the Yale Physicians Building.
The garage is located in between the streets of Davenport and Congress. It is open from 6 am to 9 pm during week days only. Walking from the garage, head south toward Congress Avenue for approximately 300 feet. Turn left onto Congress Avenue and continue walking until you arrive at the intersection of Congress Avenue and Cedar Street. The Anlyan Center is located at this intersection.
