Overview
A one-day symposium designed to discuss guideline-driven recommendations, cutting edge diagnostic options and novel medical and device therapies in caring for the patient with cardiovascular disease as relevant to the internist and other providers. As cardiovascular disease remains a major cause of disability and death in the United States, it is of great value to all clinicians to be empowered with this knowledge which would be condensed in the form of many simple lectures, debates, Q & A sessions and a round of jeopardy during the course of the day. 

Objectives
  1. Review important facts on ECG, echo and cardiac MRI as it pertains to the internist
  2. Discuss screening of asymptomatic coronary artery disease
  3. Review optimal medical therapy for coronary disease in 2017
  4. Apply guideline-directed indications for percutaneous coronary intervention
  5. Recognize the role of CABG surgery in a world of coronary stents
  6. Discuss invasive treatment for atrial fibrillation
  7. Review current indications for pacemakers and ICDs
  8. Discuss a multidisciplinary approach to invasive cardiovascular treatment
  9. Manage patient with pulmonary embolism
  10. Review transcatheter valve therapies and the future of transcatheter treatment
  11. Discuss cardiovascular management of syncope
  12. Identify clinical differences in management of heart disease in women
  13. Discussion of interesting cardiovascular cases
