Overview

***ONLINE REGISTRATION IS CLOSED. ON-SITE REGISTRANTS WELCOME!!***

Please mark your calendars and join us this Fall in Rhode Island for the 10th Annual Endoscopy Course hosted by the Yale School of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine, Section of Digestive Diseases.

The field of endoscopy has rapidly evolved with the introduction of innovative diagnostic techniques and novel therapies. The endoscopist frequently encounters difficult issues and controversies in patient management. “The Endoscopy Course” is designed for providers to better understand the current role of endoscopy in the care of patients with a variety of gastrointestinal diseases. Numerous challenging topics will be explored, including the basics of endoscopy, innovations in upper and lower GI disorders, gastrointestinal bleeding, and pancreas and biliary tract disorders.

In addition, this year’s course will feature lectures on new endoscopic interventions. As always, the highlight of this unique educational symposium are the debates between Harvard and Yale faculty on areas of endoscopic controversy.

Participants will have access to PDF files of course presentations in their Yale CME Profile once the course begins and after course completion.

Target Audience: This program is designed for practicing gastroenterologists, gastroenterology fellows, nurses, and advanced practice providers interested in the care of patients with gastrointestinal diseases and the latest information on state-of-the-art endoscopic diagnosis and treatment of these illnesses.

Objectives
  1. Review new considerations with regard to endoscopy and gastrointestinal bleeding including management of antithrombotic agents
  2. Implement methods for improving colonoscopy quality, removal of difficult polyps and endoscopic mucosal resection
  3. Appreciate developments in benign and malignant biliary stricture management, cholangitis, difficult bile duct stones and biliary cannulation techniques
