Overview

This on demand webinar is designed for physicians, physician assistants, APRN’s, nurses, perioperative teams, and technologists focusing on the care of elderly patients with vascular disease. A review of the epidemiology of the American aging population and its characteristics will be presented with the risks and benefits of antithrombotic medication in that group of patients.

Approaches and treatment of common vascular diseases in the elderly will be discussed that enhance the elderly patients’ mobility, survival and quality of life. An overview of recent technological and medical advances in the field will be presented. Special considerations for optimizing the outcomes of the elderly and frail patients will be highlighted as well as related innovations in vascular and endovascular surgery. This webinar is a recorded from the live symposium that took place on October 7, 2022 from 8:00 - 2:30 PM.

MOC POINTS ~ Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 5.0 Medical Knowledge Only MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.

ABS CREDITS ~  Self-assessment credit toward the American Board of Surgery (ABS) Continuous Certification Program will be provided.
