Members of the Medical Staff must be educated on certain topics pertaining to patient care at Y-NHH. These include, but are not limited to: infection prevention and control, prevention of blood stream, central line, and surgical infection. Proper and safe use of patient restraints and important information about pain management, patient rights and organ donation processes are also topics covered in this material. There are some slides that address basic administrative procedures and information important for Medical Staff to know about. These include, but are not limited to: recognizing and reporting events that occur in the hospital that are considered by the State of CT DPH to be "reportable" adverse events and recognizing impairment in other physicians and co-workers and how to properly handle such issues. Members of the YNHH Health System Medical Staff and House Staff who use fluoroscopy in patient care and who are not trained as radiologists or radiation oncologists need to undergo education regarding proper use of fluoroscopy in order to ensure that they perform these procedures safely and minimize exposure to both caregivers and patients. Competence is verified through completion of this online course.
