Overview

Optimizing neurological recovery after a brain injury requires aggressive early intervention and individual specific treatment plans.  Working closely together, the neurocritical care community is implementing novel diagnostic and therapeutic approaches to not only improve survival, but enhance recovery following acute brain injury.  This educational program is designed to outline the latest evidence-based strategies as well as innovative applications for optimizing neurological outcome in the setting of hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke.   


Objectives
  1. Review the evidence and techniques for minimally invasive image-guided hematoma evacuation
  2. Discuss the evidence and techniques for middle meningeal artery embolization for chronic subdural hematomas
  3. Explore how multi-modal monitoring impacts care of sick neurovascular patient
  4. Review the past, present, and future of endovascular therapy for acute ischemic stroke
  5. Examine different approaches to carotid revascularization
  6. Assess the role of PFO closure in secondary stroke prevention

    Directions
    This conference is being held at Yale West Campus Conference Center, 800 West Campus Drive, Orange, CT. 

    GPS: Updated devices can enter 100 West Campus Drive, Orange, CT. This is the entrance gate/welcome center to West Campus. Once you arrive at the gate, following signs to Building 800- the Conference Center. If you are taking a shuttle tell the driver Building 800, West Campus.

    Coming from the South:
    If you are coming from the South (New York), take I-95 North and get off at Exit 41 (Marsh Hill Rd). At the end of the ramp, go straight through the light. This is West Campus Drive and the entrance ramp to I-95 Northbound. Stay in the right lane and bear right at the fork.  Follow signs to building 800- Conference Center.  
    Coming from the North:
    If you are coming from the North (Hartford/New Haven/Madison, etc.), take I-95 South. Get off at Exit 41 (Marsh Hill Rd). At the light at the end of the exit ramp take a left onto Marsh Hill Road. At the next traffic light, take a left onto the West Campus Drive/I-95 Northbound entrance ramp. Follow this to the fork, stay in the right lane.  Follow signs to building 800- Conference Center. 
    Coming from the Merritt Parkway:
    Take the Merritt Parkway North to Exit 54 (Milford Connector). Go under the I-95 overpass and exit onto the ramp designated to New Haven (I-95 North). Get off at Exit 41 and continue with the directions above (Coming from the South) to reach West Campus.

    The Green line runs Monday - Friday and travels directly between the West Campus and Science Hill, Lot 22. The Purple line runs 7 days per week and travels directly between the West Campus and the Medical School and also to Union Station.
