Date & Location
Saturday, November 14, 2026, 7:00 AM - 4:05 PM, Anthony's Ocean View, 450 Lighthouse Road, New Haven, CT

Target Audience
Specialties - Emergency Medicine, Infectious Diseases, Internal Medicine, Ob/Gyn, Psychiatry, Psychology, Public Health

Overview

Provisions of the Connecticut General Statutes require that physicians applying for license renewal in the state of Connecticut must participate in at least 1 hour of accredited CME in each of the following categories: Infectious Diseases (including, but not limited, to HIV/AIDS); Risk Management (including, but not limited to, controlled substances and pain management); Sexual Assault; Domestic Violence; Cultural Competence; and Behavioral Health, provided further that on and after January 1, 2016, such behavioral health continuing medical education may include, but not be limited to, at least two contact hours of training or education on the topic of mental health conditions common to veterans and family members of veterans.

In collaboration with the New England AIDS Education and Training Center’s Connecticut Local Partner, Yale CME will be providing a training opportunity that meets these state-required topics. Together, the teams have developed this full-day course that will not only meet the state mandated course requirements to be relicensed but will also provide valuable information for physicians and other health care providers in the state.

With the new Routine HIV Testing Law that took effect as of January 1, 2023, it is highly recommended that physicians, physician assistants (PAs), and advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) participate in this educational activity to review the latest updates in the aforementioned topics as these topics are required for re-licensure. (For full details on your re-licensure requirements, please contact the CT DPH).

Objectives
  1. Discuss the latest recommendations and updates for HIV prevention and care.
  2. Apply current recommendations for the prevention, diagnosis, and management of sexually transmitted infections.
  3. Discuss current recommendations for viral hepatitis prevention, screening, and care.
  4. Identify current evidence-based strategies for the prevention and care of substance use disorders.

Registration

Registration fee* includes continental breakfast, refreshment break(s), and lunch:

  • Physicians - $250

  • PAs, APRNs, Nurses, and Other Healthcare Professionals - $150

  • Non-Yale Residents/Fellows/Students† - $50

  • Yale Residents/Fellows/Students† - Complimentary

  • Yale Faculty - $100

Important: Two-Part Registration Required

Registration for the Connecticut CME Mandates Symposium is a two-part process. All participants must complete both:

  1. Yale CME registration and payment through this webpage; and

  2. NEAETC registration through the separate NEAETC website.

The two registrations are required because Yale CME manages the official symposium registration, payment, attendance record, and continuing medical education credit, while NEAETC separately collects participant information for program support and reporting purposes.

Completing your Yale CME registration and payment does not complete the required NEAETC registration. Both registrations must be completed to attend the symposium.

Complete the Required NEAETC Registration

*All cancellations must be received in writing (or via e-mail) at least one week prior to the start of the conference to receive a refund. Any requests for refunds received after this date, or by telephone, will not be honored.
†A letter of verification from department head must accompany registration. Letter should be sent separately to Yale CME at the address below. You may also e-mail a pdf copy of your verification letter to [email protected].

If paying via check, include conference name in the memo, make check payable to Yale University and send to:
