Interventional radiology is an approach to care for patients who can benefit from minimally invasive image-guided therapies. Advancements in interventional care afford improved patient care, quality and overall outcomes. These new therapies are best served with a multidisciplinary team approach coordinated by a health care team of different specialties involved in the treatment. The development of multidisciplinary care teams has been shown to improve the outcome of patients. The course will focus on three core competencies: medical knowledge, patient care and procedural skills, and practice-based learning and improvement. The course will include a series of case presentations, discussions and interactive learning focused on addressing the advanced minimally invasive image-guided therapies and multidisciplinary management.

All sessions will be held at the Marriott Marquis Washington DC, 901 Massachusetts Ave NW, Washington, DC.

Target Audience

The meeting attendance is for academic IR faculty, fellows, residents and interested medical students.  There will be no registration fee. Please note online registration has closed, onsite registrants will be accepted.

1. Discuss the latest developments in interventional therapies
2. Identify interventional therapies appropriate in particular clinical situations
3. Discuss new training pathway in Interventional Radiology
4. Describe the latest image-guided therapies
5. Discuss the current and future research in interventional therapies
