Robert T Schoen, M.D., M.B.A. practices rheumatology at New Haven Rheumatology, P.C. and is a Clinical Professor of Medicine, Yale School of Medicine and Attending Physician, Yale-New Haven Hospital. Dr. Schoen received an A.B., magna cum laude, from Harvard College and an M.D., AOA, from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He completed an Internal Medicine residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital and trained in rheumatology as a Research Fellow at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Dr. Schoen obtained an MBA at the University of Connecticut.

In addition to maintaining a full-time clinical practice, Dr. Schoen is actively involved in clinical research, focusing on infectious arthritis. Shortly after its inception, he became a member of the Lyme Disease Research Clinic in the Section of Rheumatology at Yale School of Medicine and was co-director of this clinic. He has participated in numerous studies related to Lyme disease, its causation, prevention and treatment. Currently, Dr. Schoen is studying the treatment of chronic chikungunya arthritis in a Brazilian cohort. Dr. Schoen is the author of 100 scientific publications on Lyme disease, chikungunya and other inflammatory rheumatic diseases. Dr. Schoen is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Rheumatology. He is also current President of the Connecticut Rheumatology Association.
